I love looking around the web for handmade Christmas decorations.

Handmade decorations always make a house truly feel like a home and they add so much character to any space, plus the satisfaction of knowing that you have made something yourself.

As you know, I love creating messes and making things. I like getting the kids involved. They get so excited! Chaotic Monkey starts with loads of energy and gets distracted about 5 minutes into it and runs off covered in material and glue. Big Monkey usually lasts 10 more minutes before he has the urge to draw something, so I tend to finish it on my own. I don’t mind. I find it therapeutic, except the cleaning. I don’t like the cleaning part…

MollyMooCrafts has an abundance of amazing craft projects to make with the kids but I find this tree garland particularly adorable, don’t you think?

I find the colors in these decorations by Picklebums very uplifting and they would bring an extra personal touch to any tree.

The amazing Martha Steward has the most beautiful place setting ever, but we wouldn’t expect anything else from her now, would we?

Pompoms. Who doesn’t love pompoms? They are so whimsical! And Northstory has a such fun way to make them look delightful for Christmas.HOME-MADE CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS - Northstory

This wreath by That is My Letter would not only make you stand out from your neighbors but it would help you clear out all those fabric bits and pieces that you have in that basket somewhere in your house and you will then be able to buy more!!! or not… 😉

These beautiful trees by Beautiful Matters, are easy to make, beautiful and so versatile… a little forest in your house!

Hi lovely people, I hope you have had a fabulous weekend. Mine was pretty nice despite the nasty tummy bug that decided to visit me, so I didn’t manage to share my weekly inspiration with you today, but don’t worry, I am making up for it today.

Las week, adding my boards to my Etsy shop took extra long, not because there was anything wrong with the website, quite the opposite, the website is highly efficient and it is full of gorgeous and very inspiring things. I love that Etsy is one shop for all international handmade sellers, it is such a beautiful community!

I love these arrows. I must get these arrows. They match my tattoos and my kid’s weapons

We always know that home-made presents are much better. They tend to be more realistic and kids love making them or helping making them. My kids get very proud in having a once off toy, something made exclusively for them. They love it.

Over the Easter break, we had the pleasure to spend some time in Connemara, one of the most beautiful places in Ireland and probably the world. It is quite wild, the sun was shinning  and we were meeting loads of lovely family, it was very special.

Mr B made bows and arrows for all 9 kids. They were a great hit as you can imagine.
The West of Ireland
The bows and arrows were brought home but as we didn’t have a forest or big trees to shoot into. We needed a target.

We bought a square canvas and starter making circles of different sizes and colouring them. The boys picked the colours, the size of the circles and they insisted on making most of the circles and the colouring. It is very much their own project.

They have got so much use out of it and they are so proud. They keep bringing their friends over for bow and arrow demonstrations.

They couldn’t have been happier with these toys. They love them and they feel very special and unique! No amount of money can ever buy that.

What about you? Have you got home-made toys?

March weather, at least in Ireland, is a lottery. Last weekend we were in t-shirts having picnics in the park and yesterday we were back to hailstones.

Easter is upon us and kids are getting the holidays tomorrow and I have to be totally honest – I find the idea of  having kids indoor for long(ish) periods of time during the holiday period a bit daunting and/or potentially very destructive (mainly to the house), so I am already looking at things to do for those 2 weeks.

We will be taking day trips regardless of the weather (wellies and wet gear already packed), doing some cooking, going to the playground… but I wanted to include something creative. Both my kids love making crafts and painting and we are always looking for inspiration to try something new. Well, I have found my inspiration – the talented MollyMooCrafts has crafts for everything! I mean, her blog is just amazing and insanely inspiring.

From Easter crafts
OCB - Felt-Pad-BUnnies

To year-round ones
OCB - how-to-make-a-dream-catcher-feature

My kids adore her blog and they are already excited picking which ones we are going to do this Easter.

She also has an amazing craft ebook in store: Happy Handmade, check it out!

I am now off to buy my supplies.

Happy crafting!
