Happy Monday!!!  I can’t believe that I am reaching the end of my personal challenge : Losing Weight with Smoothies!
Week 4 Losing weight with smoothies - Melon and mint @ OrganisingChaosBlogAt this point looking back, I am delighted that I have made it this far (I can sometimes be a bit flaky) and that it is nearly finished, but I am also delighted with the results so far.

This week I have lost just under 1 kg. Still good but not as great as before. Happy enough with it though. We all know that it is easier to loose weight at the beginning of a diet and then it gets harder shedding those last pounds. I guess that your body just gets used to the new regime… And, in the spirit of full disclosure, I was away for the weekend and I did go near the smoothie make once!  I will not bit myself about it. As I mentioned on my first week, I can never be a slave to a diet. I guess it is all about balance.

This week green smoothie is a lighter shade of green than even last week’s one! It is very refreshing and it has hints of summer in it…

1 banana
1/2 honeydew melon, cut into chunks (about 4 cups, or 1 1/2 lbs)
1/2 cucumber
1 cup light coconut milk
5-6 leaves fresh mint
1 scoop of vanilla protein powder
Drizzle of honey to taste (optional, depending on how sweet your melon is)
Week 4 Losing weight with smoothies - Melon and mint @ OrganisingChaosBlogYou can of course add Chia Seeds to the smoothie to boost the Omega 3 intake (more info on Chia Seeds see here) or any other kind of seeds for added natural oils! I would have but I think I have packed mine somewhere in preparation for the new kitchen coming next week (excited and terrified at once!) and I could not locate them.

Very fresh. Very tasty. Very healthy.
