My new favorite cookbook was just delivered to my front door.
My very own dedicated and signed copy of The Brother Hubbard cookbook arrived at my house this afternoon.
I was looking at my kitchen utensils the other day and I realized that most of my wooden spoons and spatulas were cracked, broken or burnt. They have been hard at work for far too long so it was time to retire them and buy new ones, and since I had to buy new ones, I decided to give them a splash of color by painting them.
I spend good few hours a day cooking and colorful utensils will definitely put a smile in my face, especially during those grey days that we can’t seem to shake off.
This is a very easy and budget friendly project. All you need is your favorite color paints, wooden utensils and some painter’s tape. I decided I was going to paint some stripes, so I used the painter’s tape to mark the lines.
I would suggest not to paint too low down in the spoons if you are planning to use normal paint for this project, you don’t want your paint and your food mixing.
Aren’t they looking pretty? They really put a smile in my face – and some people say that I am hard to please,,, I don’t know what they are talking about…
Have an amazing day,
Today was a busy and fun day.
While I was running my errands this morning, I managed to sneak in some “me shopping”. Nothing amazing, some silly treats for me, but I knew it would be the last time I would get to be in a shop for a couple of weeks on my own. In peace.
The boys finished school early and as our tradition goes, the 4 of us go for lunch to celebrate the beginning of the holidays. This morning we thought that Mr B would be too busy to join us but somehow he managed to escape for an hour and meet us for our traditional lunch. The boys were delighted. We had a great lunch full of energy and love.
I am really looking forward to enjoying time with them, hanging out, having time to talk over breakfast, going swimming, making cookies…
My mum and my little sister are coming over for a visit over the holidays. There will be 3 generations and 2 languages living in my house for a week. I can’t wait for the boys to re-connect with them, to practice their Spanish, to hang out with family. I look forward to spending hours sitting at the kitchen table, planning the next meal, just being… Family time. No rush, no pressure, just quality time.
Are you on a break?
