As I mentioned recently, I moved every bed in my house before Christmas. I just woke up one morning and I had to do it.
The boys had been sharing a room since they were born but for different reasons (that will soon be revealed to you), the boys had to be separated and they now have their very own bedroom.
I have always tried to decorate their bedroom and playroom with different colors. I never liked the blue with soccer balls kind of decorations for the boy’s room. It is not them. It is not us.
As now I get to decorate 2 bedrooms, I have to take into consideration their ages, their tastes and their needs for their individual rooms, always within budget which means recycle, up-cycle, inherit, beg…. the usual!
For BIG MONKEY’S ROOM (age 8) I will need a nice desk to keep up with his drawing
And some shelving will also be neccesary for books and general stuff that they seem to get…
These walls are just gorgeous. Fun but sensible… right?
The bed is priority. It needs to be comfortable and inviting, not only to sleep but also to grab a book and read for a while.
Their little feet need to be warm, but stylish also… of course!
As for CHAOTIC MONKEY’S ROOM (age 6) I will also need some storage and this one looks not only affordable but fun!
I am totally in love with that Fantastic Mr Fox print and that rug here. Just. In. Love.
This kind of wall decoration is so Chaotic Monkey, it is scary.
There is so much I would take from here. From the cushions, to the wall, to the bed… so much…
How cool would it be to have this seat in your room? I mean Chaotic Monkey’s room… yes, that’s what I mean…
Food for thought.
I will be working hard at making those spaces as amazing, relaxing and inspiring as I can.
What about you?
Are you inspired yet?
Have an amazing weekend.

Christmas time is THE time for giving and receiving presents, and it’s lovely, most of the time.
I love buying presents for family and friends. I love thinking about what they might like, what they have, what they need, what they would use…. it’s just lovely putting time and effort into buying those presents.
There are other presents that are hard to buy, like the office Secret Santa where you have got someone you don’t really know all that well, a very limited budget and not a whole lot of inspiration. You are looking for presents that are both nice and impersonal, lovely but not offensive. I don’t like the idea of just buying something, wasting money in something that you know will end up in a drawer – it’s such a waste of money! I just can’t.
I have made up a list with ideas of things to buy that are thoughtful, in budget and will not end up in a dark corner.
For the guy who likes to work out at home – Hand weights
For the guy who is always taking photos in his phone – 3 in 1 Lens Set
For the guy who has not grown up yet fully – a Rubber Band Gun
For the guy into Superheroes and coffee – a Batman mug
For the football aficionado – a Football Beanie
For the gambler in your office – a poker set
For the guy who knows how to look after himself – beauty products
For the foodie in your office – a cooking book
I hope that this list will provide you with some inspiration to go out and buy a nice gift for all the men in your life, including the newbie in the office, and thus freeing some time to enjoy the Christmas chaos and shenanigans with loved ones.
I love looking around the web for handmade Christmas decorations.
Handmade decorations always make a house truly feel like a home and they add so much character to any space, plus the satisfaction of knowing that you have made something yourself.
As you know, I love creating messes and making things. I like getting the kids involved. They get so excited! Chaotic Monkey starts with loads of energy and gets distracted about 5 minutes into it and runs off covered in material and glue. Big Monkey usually lasts 10 more minutes before he has the urge to draw something, so I tend to finish it on my own. I don’t mind. I find it therapeutic, except the cleaning. I don’t like the cleaning part…
MollyMooCrafts has an abundance of amazing craft projects to make with the kids but I find this tree garland particularly adorable, don’t you think?
I find the colors in these decorations by Picklebums very uplifting and they would bring an extra personal touch to any tree.
The amazing Martha Steward has the most beautiful place setting ever, but we wouldn’t expect anything else from her now, would we?
Pompoms. Who doesn’t love pompoms? They are so whimsical! And Northstory has a such fun way to make them look delightful for Christmas.
This wreath by That is My Letter would not only make you stand out from your neighbors but it would help you clear out all those fabric bits and pieces that you have in that basket somewhere in your house and you will then be able to buy more!!! or not… 😉
These beautiful trees by Beautiful Matters, are easy to make, beautiful and so versatile… a little forest in your house!
I love, love, love this simple and yet stunning center piece by InspireMeHeather. Did I mention that I love it?
If you are lucky enough to have pine cones in your area, you can make the cutest tree out of them. Yes, you heard me right. Just ask Tapelu2. So cute!!!
So, between all these amazing examples of beautiful and yet easy hand-made Christmas decorations, plus last year’s ones, plus the ones I’ve made on the blog(here, here, here), you have no excuse not to personalize your home-decor during this festive season with your very own hand-made Christmas decorations
Share your projects on #ChaoticChristmas so we can all see them and appreciate them.
As you know, I have been making my own beauty products for a while now and I have to say that I would never go back to the store-bought ones. Not only the home-made products are cheaper to make but they are also much better for you and the environment.
As you can imagine, packing to come to Spain for 7 weeks with 2 kids is no easy task. Although we already have god few things here in our summer-house, the suitcases were still full and there is a lot to bring between clothes, toys, books… you know the drill. But it is a relief to know that I don’t have to bring my favorite beauty products as I can make them over there with some basic ingredients.
So this week I will be making my favorite scrubs to get my skin ready for the sun, and my favorite facial masks for my skin to feel amazing.
What is your favorite home-made beauty product for the summer?
